Trying to get a read on just how much of an effect the synchrony bond has. Defining it as just "pleasure" isn't particularly helpful or descriptive.

If a tincture was supposed to cause pleasure there's a lot of ways that could happen. Increased sensitivity, feelings of euphoria, aphrodisiac properties, even just lowering inhibitions like sorta like alcohol. Kinda wanna know what the game is with this synchrony thing.

My question was why you're so against letting people into your space. You're acting like a little hand-holding is nigh unthinkable, which is kind of curious to me. That's all.

So what if this synchrony thing acts more like a drug or a spell and it escalates? They've already warned us away from trying to sync with any of the Gems and there's a reason for that, a physiological one. So if it can do that kind of damage to the Gems what's stopping them from just not telling us that it can do the same to us? What do they lose out of it? It's less resources spent and less money out of their pocket.

Whatever magical pool they're creating with the manna? We have no reason to believe we're not each a finite resource. So what happens when that's used up?

Ah, so you've been approaching all this with the absolute worst case scenario in mind. I've gotta say, I commend you on that: none of my own worst cases were quite that bad.

Anyway. If that's the case, and this is really some kind of drain-us-until-we're-dead situation? It's worth keeping in mind that not playing along probably runs the risk of them getting rid of you as wastage.

Sounds kind of lose-lose to me.
